But, a new store sells a number of practical and quirky items, and is an enjoyable place to experience, and the Kenai Peninsula Borough has two new policies, one which allows the borough to issue civil trespass orders, and one which clarifies how public records can be accessed.

Kenai cheer triumphs at state competition
Going into the state championship competition, the Kenai Central High School cheerleading team felt a lot of pressure to uphold its reputation from the last three seasons. The squad of eleven girls, mostly underclassmen, recently experienced a loss during the team’s regional competition. Their head coach had also just resigned, resulting in lost practice time.

Soldotna donates $50 thousand to city's Little League
The City of Soldotna has approved a $50 thousand donation to Soldotna Little League so the organization can make improvements to its fields. At its Wednesday meeting, the Soldotna City Council took up the ordinance to make a major donation to the organization, which operates at the baseball fields adjacent to the Soldotna Sports Complex.

Much of the United States experienced a solar eclipse Monday [04/08], an astronomical phenomenon where the moon passes between the earth and the sun and causes temporary darkness. Although the spectacle couldn’t be seen from Alaska, folks in Kenai had the opportunity to experience the eclipse in a different way; and a bill that would allow disabled veterans a free lifetime pass to Alaska state parks and campsites is moving through the legislature.
