Crews were responding to a fire Friday morning in Slatington.

Lehigh County 911 dispatchers said firefighters responded about 5:15 a.m. to the 300 block of Williams Street for a house fire.

Crews were still at the scene as of about 8 a.m., according to 911.

Photos of the fire showed flames and smoke coming from the top floor of a home. Additional information was not immediately available.

Trooper Nathan Branosky, a state police spokesman, said a state police fire marshal was called to the scene to determine a cause and origin of the fire. Someone who answered the phone for Slatington Fire Department said Friday afternoon that there was no information to release at that time.

Firefighters in Slatington battled a blaze in the borough earlier this week. Crews responded early Tuesday morning to a home in the 200 block of Center Street. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
