Sophomore righthander Kyeria Morse fired a no-hitter, striking out 13, as the Oxford Hills High School softball team from South Paris defended its Class A North championship with a 2-0 win over Skowhegan at the Central Maine Community College field in Auburn Tuesday night.

Oxford Hills, a 4-3 winner over Skowhegan in last year’s A North title game, will now take on Cheverus of Portland in the state title game on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the CMCC field.

Cheverus, now 18-1, upset previously undefeated and defending state champion Windham 2-0 in 10 innings.

Lily Noyes went the distance for Skowhegan and struck out 12.

Oxford Hills is 17-2 and Skowhegan also wound up 17-2 with both losses coming to Oxford Hills.

The Vikings scored single runs in the second and third inning.

In the second, Charlotte McGreevy walked and scored from first when Samantha McPhail’s single was misplayed in the outfield.

In the third, Gigi DeVivo singled, stole second and eventually scored on Morse’s sacrifice fly.

McPhail had a double to go with her single for the Vikings.
