At 7:25 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Newell to near Auburn to Manning Municipal Airport, moving northeast at 60 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

At 2:35 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 5 miles south of St. Edward, or 15 miles southeast of Albion, moving north at 35 mph. 60 mph wind gusts & 1.25″ diameter hail radar indicated. This severe thunderstorm will be near St. Edward around 240 PM CDT.

Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage

(12:58 p.m.): A Tornado Watch is in effect for multiple Nebraska counties and Iowa.

The National Weather Service said the Watch is in effect until 7 p.m. Affected counties in Siouxland include Knox, Cedar, Dixon, Dakota, Antelope, Pierce, Wayne, Thurston, Madison, Stanton, Cuming and Burt counties in Nebraska and Harrison, Monona, and Woodbury counties in Iowa.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect for Cherokee and O’Brien counties in Iowa. That Warning is in effect until 1:30 p.m. The NWS stated that a severe thunderstorm was located near Paullina moving north at 45 mph at 12:56 p.m.

There is the chance of ping pong size hail. Half dollar size hail was reported 5 miles west of Quinby at 12:30 p.m.

(12:20 p.m.): A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued in multiple counties in Siouxland.

According to the National Weather Service, the warning has been issued for Cherokee County as well as northeastern parts of Woodbury County, southeastern parts of Plymouth County, and northwestern parts of Ida County.

The warning will be in effect until 1 p.m.

The warning came out after a severe thunderstorm was located near Washta.

The National Weather Service said that quarter-size hail is expected.

Affected areas include Quimby, Washta, Cherokee, Marcus, and Cleghorn.

PREVIOUS: The Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Knox County has been canceled.

KCAU 9 will continue to monitor the weather system moving through the Siouxland region as more severe weather is likely later today.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for western parts of Knox County.

According to the National Weather Service, western parts of Knox County will be in a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 10:30 a.m.

NWS says a severe storm was located near Verigre just before 10 a.m. Areas such as Niobrara, Verdel, and Niobrara State Park may be affected.

Quarter-size hail is expected and vehicles left outdoors may be damaged.
