Recently the Grant County 4-Hers held their Annual Awards Banquet for completion of project record books. Honors were extended to in the senior division, Ari Martinez; in the junior division, Kayleigh Massengil; in the novice division, Peyton Waters; and in the Cloverbud age division, Raely Mounyo.  For the livestock, ambassadors were selected based on their hard work toward raising and showing their animals. These individuals were recognized, presented a buckle and a $100. The named ambassadors included: Kayleigh Massengil as Beef Ambassador; Riley Vermillion as Sheep/Goat Ambassador; Peyton Waters as Swine Ambassador; Bella Lopez as Rabbit Ambassador; and Lathan Massengill as Poultry Ambassador.  The “Friend of 4-H Award” was presented to Deborah Laney. The 4-H Volunteer Award was presented to Deily and Lesie Crumbley for their service as club leaders of Lone Mountain 4-H Club.

The Luna County Board of County Commissioners will be having a regular meeting at the Luna County Courthouse on Thursday, March 9th at 10am. Some items on the agenda include the permit for South Peak Solar to Galehead Development, Luna County School Bus Routes, Arterial Projects, and other items. The Silver City Public Library will be having a Friends of the Library book sale this Saturday, from 10am to 2pm at 1510 Market Street in Silver City.
