Art Crawl offers a look inside Beaumont’s creative community

On any given day, Beaumont is home to artists working to bring beauty and creativity to the world. Most of the time, they toil away far from unsuspecting eyes. But the public will soon get a chance to visit a variety of venues as a group of creators open their doors. The second annual Downtown Beaumont Art Crawl is set for 2-6 p.m. Nov. 7. Artist Dario Bucheli, who has a studio at the new Calder Works art space, said the Art Crawl grew out of an idea for a few artists to introduce their work to the community. “We thought it would be a good thing to do for the community, for us to open our spaces and let people see what we're working on and make ourselves known,” he said. “At that time, I had just moved into my studio, and so we thought of including just a couple of us. Then the more we thought about it, the more I realized there's actually a lot more artists and cultural landmarks and participants in downtown and in the area around it than I think a lot of people know.
