The youthful Sikeston and Kelly girls’ soccer teams suffered tough losses on Thursday, March 30.

Sikeston (0-6-0) fell 6-0 to Saxony Lutheran (3-1-0) at the Sports Complex, while Kelly (2-3-2) lost 8-0 at Notre Dame (3-1-2).

“Coming into the game I knew that Notre Dame was a very tough team,” said Kelly coach Omar Campos. “Our mindset was to play as hard as possible the entire game and not give up no matter the outcome. Our focus is one game at a time so we continue building a stronger, faster and more knowledgeable team.”

Both teams will return to action on Tuesday, April 4.

Sikeston will travel to DeSoto (1-3-1), while Kelly hosts Cape Central (0-4-0).

"Today was our third match in three days," said Sikeston coach Gabe Dement. "We had some injuries and played new girls in new spots, but Saxony Lutheran was the better team. We saw some positives out of some new things we tried and hope to build on that starting next week."
