The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office has released more information about a drive-by shooting last fall near Shueyville.
According to the original criminal complaint, 19-year-old Bryant Wallace of 4th Avenue was driving a black minivan towards the victim’s residence on Hickory Hollow Road just before 5:45pm on November 2nd. He slowed down so his teenage accomplice could shoot four rounds from a 9mm handgun out the van window at the victim’s camper.
Wallace is reported to have helped lock and load the handgun.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office released a statement Tuesday morning indicating they were able to tie Wallace to the scene because he was wearing a GPS ankle monitor from the Department of Corrections.
The camper was hit three times, with one round missing the occupant’s head by inches. The intended target and her infant child were not in the camper, as Wallace wrongly believed.
Wallace is charged with Dominion or Control of a Firearm as a Felon and Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon. If convicted on both counts, he could be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison.
Wallace’s juvenile accomplice has now been charged with Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon and Minor Armed with a Dangerous Weapon. If convicted as an adult, he would face a maximum of 11 years behind bars.
