Mild winter puts Leavitt on fast track
A Saturday was required to complete one of the biggest undertakings thus far in the expansion of the Leavitt Reservoir northwest of Shell. Rounding up nine of its mixing trucks, which it couldn’t have done on a weekday without shutting down one of its plants, Big Horn Redi-Mix delivered 29 loads of concrete to Leavitt site, where employees from Big Sky Civil Contractors and Montana Civil Contractors formed the foundation of a 90-foot outlet works tower.
‘We The People’ challenges Riverside High School students
On Tuesday, April 16th Riverside High School’s junior government class held its “We The People” hearings as part of the district assessment. Teacher Stuart DesRosier said this is a very challenging assignment where the students prepare a written response to difficult constitutional questions and present them to a panel of judges from outside the school.

Church plans Ascension Day worship, dinner
Grace Lutheran Church in Greybull will celebrate Ascension Day at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8. “Technically, Ascension Day is Thursday,” says Pastor Jais H. Tinglund. “But it has always been practice in the Church of Christ to begin celebrating the great feasts on the evening before; just as we pretty much all are used to thinking that Christmas begins on Christmas Eve. Buff Ranch preps for annual plant sale
Greybull High School students will be opening Buff Ranch to the public next weekend for their annual flower and plant sale starting on Friday, May 10. The Buff Ranch property has been held by District 3 for many years and used by its student body for agriculture and animal science courses. Jennifer Schultz, who teaches science at Greybull High School, credits Dean Waddell and his Special Education students for its early development.
