Shelbyville weightlifter places third

Shelbyville High School’s Carlos Garrett competed in the State Powerlifting competition in Abilene March 25, 2023. Competing in the 181-pound weight class, he came in third in the state for division 4. Carlos set new personal records for each lift for an increase of 60 pounds and a total of 1,410 total pounds. His numbers were squat 500 pounds, bench press 370 pounds and deadlift 540 pounds.
