About an hour drive south of Nashville, a whiskey distillery is now home to a state-of-the-art entertainment venue, restaurant, and a bar longer than two Boeing 747 airplanes.
Humble Baron opens Thursday at Nearest Green Distillery in Shelbyville. The venue—seated on 323 acres of property—has capacity to host more than 15,000 guests for live music events with an indoor and outdoor stage. That's double the size of FirstBank Amphitheater in Williamson County, and just 5,000 less seats than Bridgestone Area.
Aside from performances, Humble Baron features a showpiece bar that measures 518 feet. The bar wraps around the venue's indoor stage and houses 17 stations where crafted cocktails made from Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey will be on tap. The $50 million distillery's whiskey-making process has a storied history which pays tribute to Nathan “Nearest” Green—a former slave who taught Jack Daniel everything he knew about distilling whiskey.
Humble Baron will also offer an exceptional menu crafted by Chef G. Garvin, a James Beard nominee. Dining guests can enjoy Southern-inspired dishes like Nashville hot shrimp and grits, and snow crab claws sautéed in brown butter and sage.
The venue opens March 23. For a list of this weekend's scheduled performers, click here.
