SHADY COVE, Ore. -- Firefighters are currently on the scene of a fire in the hills east of Shady Cove, according to a Facebook post from ODF Southwest Oregon District.Â
"Firefighters are estimating it to be half an acre and are putting in an aggressive initial attack," the post said. "It’s currently burning in heavy timber."
More ODF firefighters are coming in to battle the fire, and the Bureau of Land Management is also getting involved, the post said.Â
"The cause will be officially under investigation when active fire has been knocked down," the post said. "We’re also patrolling in areas where lightning has struck for signs of smoke or fire, especially in areas that didn’t receive rain."
This is a developing story. NewsWatch 12 will update this article as more information comes in.Â
