Sewickley area student achievements for the week of May 30, 2023

Sophia A. Gledhill was among the Western Pennsylvania Girl Scouts who received her Gold Award on May 7 at the Chadwick in Wexford. Gledhill’s Gold Award project educated her peers and community about the global plastic crisis. She taught classes on how to reduce ecological impact through Eco Bricks, in addition to creating videos and a website in an ongoing effort to educate more people across the world.

Tina Lesher has been named to the Central Penn College Dean’s List for the winter 2023 term. Lesher is pursuing a bachelor of science in healthcare management.

Christopher Barefoot qualified for Belmont University’s spring 2023 dean’s list.

Ryan Edwards earned a 4.0 GPA for the spring semester at Florida Gulf Coast University and was named to the president’s list.

The following students were named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2023 semester at Grove City College: Ben Bjorklund, Mara Brak, Madeline Dunda, Derek Johncour, David Kraus, Mason Nichols, Eddie Renner and Jackson Southern.

Megan Hilberg has been named to the 2023 spring semester dean’s list at Ohio Wesleyan University.

Ezekiel Hendricks made the dean’s list at PennWest California for the spring term 2023.

Jack Christ, son of Liza and Matthew Christ of Edgeworth and piano student of Donna Amato, placed first in the Solo Performance Competition of the Pittsburgh Piano Teachers Association on April 22. With the first place award came a monetary prize and a performance in the distinguished Competitions Recital, in which he performed a Scarlatti Sonata and a Liszt Consolation. Jack is a student at Sewickley Academy.
