SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a bank robbery and quickly made an arrest.
Just before 1 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a bank robbery in the 2400 block of S. Seneca, according to Officer Chad Ditch. An employee of Emprise Bank reported a man had passed a note to a clerk demanding money and claiming to have a weapon.
Officers obtained a description of the suspect and began checking the area in an attempt to locate him.
An officer contacted a man matching the description of the suspect in a nearby McDonald’s restaurant at 2418 South Seneca and took 52-year-old Brian Richards into custody without incident.
He is being held on a requested charge of aggravated robbery, according to online jail records.
