A teenager was arrested Wednesday after officers say they threatened to shoot up a school in Selma.

According to the Selma Police Department, officers were told about a threat that made its way onto social media involving Selma High School.

That threat, investigators say, mentioned a school shooting.

Following an investigation, officers with the Selma Police Department say the suspect was identified as a teenager and no weapons were found.

That teenager, officials say, was arrested in Selma and booked into the Fresno County juvenile hall.

“The Selma Police Department would like to thank the community for their quick response on reporting this incident,” said the Selma Police Department in a statement. “The Selma Police Department is committed to fully investigate each threat and ensuring the safety of students, school staff and community members.”
