SEDGWICK COUNTY—An off-duty sheriff's deputy is under investigation.
On Thursday night, the Derby Police Department arrested off-duty Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office Detention Deputy Aaron Burr on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to Colonel Jared Schechter.
Burr was operating his personally owned vehicle and was not acting in any official capacity at the time of the arrest.
Burr has been employed by the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office since January of 2022. Burr will remain fulfilling his job duties while he goes through the legal process. At the conclusion of the legal process an internal investigation with the Professional Standards Unit will be conducted.
