Washington Huskies: Early Look at 2024 Football Recruiting

By Herb Nightengale

Washington Huskies football coaches are on the recruiting trail. Before heading back to Seattle for training camp, they are scouting top prospects for 2024.

In college football, recruiting never ends. The Washington Huskies coaches are out of the office this time of year, meeting with prospects for the 2024 class, especially in the fertile areas of Southern California and Texas.

Washington currently has three players committed to them for the 2024 recruiting class. Their first chance to lock up prospects is in December during the Early Signing Period. Most remaining signings happen in February.

UW figures to land somewhere around 17 to 20 players signed by the end of February. They are eager to improve on their #25 national recruiting class ranking in 2023 (per 24/7 sports).

The top signing so far is offensive lineman Paki Finau. A four-star recruit from Oaks Hills, California, Finau, announced his intentions on May 8, 2023.

They also have commitments from a pair of three star recruits.

The first is a local product from Garfield High School in Seattle. Quarterback EJ Caminong announced his commitment to the Washington Huskies on October 26.

It’s not a done deal, as he has a visit scheduled with Texas A&M in College Station on June 9. But with Michael Penix Jr. and Dylan Morris likely done at the end of the 2022 season, Caminong has a chance to compete for playing time quickly at Washington.

Back in October, wide receiver Landon Bell committed to Huskies coach Kalen DeBoer. The Henderson, Nevada prospect possesses strong qualities such as size (6-3, 180 pounds), great hands, and a high football IQ.

I’m sure we’ll hear more about the Washington Huskies 2024 recruiting class in the months ahead. Meanwhile, they also have some spots left to fill in 2023.
