Seattle Fire Department rescues 3 from capsized sailboat near Discovery Park

SEATTLE — A Seattle Fire Department boat crew rescued three people from an overturned sailboat near Discovery Park on Saturday.

At 2:46 p.m., SFD tweeted that crews went to a water rescue for a boat in distress near the 8000 block of Seaview Avenue Northwest.

The SFD told KIRO 7 that a sailboat went over in the water near Discovery Park.

Seattle Fireboat 2 pulled the people out of the water and got them to shore near Golden Gardens Park. Three people went in the water, and all were transported to Harborview Medical Center.

Two of the people were stable and taken by ambulance. Medics took the third person because they needed more care.
