The National Weather Service has placed Sea Isle City under a Coastal Flood Watch from Saturday evening to 2 a.m. Sunday.

A foot or more of floodwater is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways, according to a weather alert issued by the Sea Isle Police Department.

“At this level, widespread roadway flooding occurs in coastal and bayside communities and along inland tidal waterways. Many roads become impassable. Some damage to vulnerable structures may begin to occur,” the alert says.

Homeowners should take steps to protect flood-prone property.

Motorists are urged to allow extra travel time because some roads may be closed. They should not drive around barricades or through floodwater of unknown depth, police say.

For police or fire emergencies, call 911. For non-emergencies, call the Sea Isle Police Department at (609) 263-4311.
