    PREP ROUNDUP: Science Hill Walks Off On Devils In Baseball

    JOHNSON CITY — Science Hill’s Josh Marmo singled home a run with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 5-4 win over the Greeneville Greene Devils on Saturday.

    Greeneville reliever Sam Thompson took the loss. In 1 1/3 innings, he gave up a hit, walked none and struck out one. Science Hill’s run in the seventh was unearned.

    Greeneville, now 17-12, had eight hits. Kaine Ricker was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI, Will Harmon was 2-for-4, Kobe Mundy had a hit and an RBI, and Carson Quillen, Colton Richards and Noah Murray each had a hit.

    Victory Christian 7 Chuckey-Doak 4

    AFTON — Victory Christian scored all seven of its runs in the first to send Chuckey-Doak to its third straight loss on Saturday.

    Luke Myers was a bright spot for Chuckey-Doak on the mound. In five shutout innings of relief, he gave up a hit, walked none and struck out four.

    Chuckey-Doak, now 13-10, had just two hits – a single each by Christian Derry and Jake Hinkle.

    North Greene 15 Unaka 1 (6)

    ELIZABETHTON — North Greene ripped 15 hits and improved to 12-8 with the run-rule win in six innings on Saturday.

    North Greene’s Mason Smith was 3-for-5 with an RBI, Jake Duffy was 3-for-5, Jaiden Bailey was 2-for-3 with a double and four RBI, Isaac Gaby was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Owen Pierce was 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI, Colton Robbins had a hit and two RBI, Don Stansfield had a double and Adam Weir had a hit.

    Weir drew the start on the mound for North Greene and pitched three innings for the win. He gave up two hits, an unearned run, walked three and struck out four.

    Duffy followed with three hitless, scoreless innings of relief. He walked one and struck out four.

    SOFTBALL Greeneville Sweeps

    The Greeneville Lady Devils swept Cosby on Friday, winning the first game 17-3 in five innings and the second game 12-1 in three innings.

    In the 17-3 win in the first game, Greeneville’s Leah Phillips went the distance in the circle. In five innings, she gave up five hits, walked none and struck out six. All three Cosby runs were unearned.

    Greeneville’s Kyla Jobe went 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI, Kaley Garland was 3-for-4 with two RBI, Madison Carpenter was 2-for-4 with two RBI, Stoan Rader and Adaley Lamons each went 2-for-3, Trudi Aiken and Brynlee Jones each had a hit and two RBI, Phillips had a double and an RBI, and Lauren Million had a hit.

    In the 12-1 win in the second game, Jobe went 3-for-3 with two triples, a home run and three RBI. Carpenter was 2-for-2 with two RBI, Rader was 2-for-2, Jones and Lamons each had a hit and two RBI, Garland had a hit and an RBI, and Baylee Ramsey had a hit.

    Jones pitched all three innings in the circle. She gave up three hits, walked one and struck out three. Cosby’s run was earned.

    Greeneville improves to 20-11.

    Hancock County 5 North Greene 4

    SNEEDVILLE — North Greene fell to 7-7 with the loss on Friday.

    Hannah Brooks pitched five innings of relief and took the loss. She gave up five hits, two runs (one earned), walked one and struck out four.

    North Greene’s Heidi Harmon went 2-for-4 with a double, Brooks was 2-for-4, Matti Phillips had a solo home run, Abby Parker had a hit and an RBI, and Loren Blevins had a hit.

    Sullivan East 8 South Greene 7

    Sullivan East pushed across two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to drop South Greene to 14-7 on Sunday.

    South Greene’s Haven Carter went 2-for-3 with two RBI, Kortnei Bailey was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Katie Willett had a double and an RBI, Macy Roberts had a hit and an RBI, Nevaeh Davis had a double and Kaylee Whitson had a hit.

    Bailey took the loss in the circle. In three innings of relief, she gave up four hits, two runs (one earned), walked one and struck out two.

    Morristown West 12 South Greene 0 (4)

    South Greene was no-hit in the run-rule loss in four innings on Saturday.

    South Greene 6 Lady Canes 4

    South Greene’s Kaylee Whitson went the distance in the circle for the win on Saturday. In four innings, she gave up seven hits, walked none and struck out three. Three of the Lady Canes’ four runs were earned.

    South Greene had nine hits. Madison Hensley went 2-for-2 with an RBI, Whitney Reaves was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Willett was 2-for-2 with a double, Carter had a hit and an RBI, and Bailey and Nevaeh Davis each had a hit.

    West Ridge 11 South Greene 0 (4)

    South Greene had just two hits – singles by Hensley and Reaves – in the run-rule loss in four innings on Friday.

    South Greene 5 Volunteer 3

    Whitson went the distance in the circle for the win on Friday. In seven innings, she gave up eight hits, walked one and struck out none. Two of Volunteer’s three runs were earned.

    South Greene’s Reagan Arrowood was 2-for-3 with two RBI, Hensley and Reaves each went 2-for-3, Whitson had a double and two RBI, Carter had a hit and an RBI, and Willett and Bailey each had a hit.
