Albany-Saratoga had a night of racing along with some early rain, but promoter Lyle Devore and company had no plans to give up on their opening night. There was a good crowd in the stands, even with the threat of rain, and the pit was one car shy of 170 cars. And we saw something that we hadn’t seen in a long time: fans were buying tickets while it was raining.
Schenectady YMCA preps for Special Olympics basketball
Three Special Olympics basketball teams will take over the Schenectady YMCA basketball court for a free round-robin tournament on Saturday. The scrimmages are a first for the Capital Region and will kick off at 9:30 a.m.
Students React to New Hockey Rink
On February 29, 2024, the college announced that the Men’s and Women’s Division 1 hockey teams will play in a new rink beginning in fall 2025. The rink will be located off campus at Mohawk Harbor, approximately 0.5 miles and a 10 minute walk from College Park Hall. Construction of the rink began on April 9.
Football Player From Albany Named Potential Suitor On New Season Of 'The Bachelorette'
Tran, age 26, made her Bachelor Nation debut on Joey Grazidei's season, and will be the first Asian-American Bachelorette in season history. Tran is a physician assistant based in Miami, and will soon be meeting the 28 men hoping for a shot at love. The new season will begin airing in July on ABC-TV.

Naclerio inducted to NYS Hall of Fame
Cardozo High School’s own boys basketball coach Ron Naclerio was inducted into the New York State Basketball Hall of Fame in Troy, NY last weekend. “Beyond excited and thinking of so many things,” Naclerio wrote on social media site X before the weekend’s festivities. “Need to ‘Thank’ so many. Albany Dutchmen won’t be playing in Guilderland
GUILDERLAND — The Albany Dutchmen will not be playing on Dutchmen Field at Roger Keenholts Park in Guilderland this season. Since 2021, college players from across the country had converged in Guilderland, staying with host families, for a summer season “with hopes and dreams of being drafted by Major League Baseball,” Jason Brinkman, the team’s general manager and vice president, told The Enterprise in a podcast three years ago when the team started using Dutchmen Field.
