Brazilian artist Simone Kestelman lists Scarsdale mansion for $7.89M

Brazilian artist Simone Kestelman and her husband Leonardo Kestelman — managing director of Dinosaur Merchant Bank and Dinosaur Securities — have relisted their Scarsdale, NY, home for $7.89 million.

It first hit the market for $7.19 million in May, 2020.

The colonial home with a stucco exterior, at 40 Hampton Road, was built in 2016.

The residence has served as a backdrop for Kestelman’s artistic creations like bright sculptures and landscape installations, including ceramic flowers that have been “planted” at her home and other residences and institutions across the New York area, Brazil and Israel.

The six-bedroom, seven-full-bath, two-half-bath abode opens with a two-story foyer anchored by a floating stair case, 10-foot ceilings and glass walls.

There’s also an open, eat-in chef’s kitchen with an extra-large island, a downstairs gym with a sauna, a wet bar and a temperature-controlled wine room, along with cathedral ceilings and environmentally conscious details like geothermal heating.

The main bedroom comes with a custom walk-in closet and a spa-like bath, while the living room features a gas fireplace and glass doors that open to the landscaped backyard with a pool, bluestone patio and a pergola with an outdoor kitchen. There’s even a large treehouse in the backyard.

The property, which sits on 0.7 acres, comes with its own generator.
