SAYREVILLE – A self-storage facility has been proposed for the Club Pure site on Route 35.

InSite Development Partners, of Torrance, Calif., has filed an application with the Planning Board for preliminary and final major site plan approval to build the facility, consisting of one three-story building and a one-story building, totaling approximately 130,162 square feet, with associated site improvements, at 1970 Route 35, in the 1970 Route 35 Redevelopment Area.

The 138,152-square-foot property is owned by Loumis Realty, of Millstone, according to the application.

The Club Pure building will be demolished, according to the borough.

The Borough Council approved an ordinance last year that established a redevelopment plan for the site.

A self storage facility has been proposed for the Club Pure site on Route 35, Sayreville.

The applicant is seeking design waivers for lighting.

There are two existing non-conformities that will be removed as part of the application – where a minimum front yard setback of 35 feet is required, a setback of 31.5 feet is existing and where a minimum 5-foot building separation is required, and 4.1-foot building separation exists.

The public hearing on the application is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. June 7.
