Savannah High School baseball falls to Kearney in extras of Pony Express Tournament semi-finals
(SAVANNAH, MO) - The Savannah High School baseball team fell 20-10 to Kearney in 9th innings in the Pony Express Tournament semi-finals Tuesday at Phil Welch Stadium. The game was tied at 2-2 after 7 innings. Kearney scored 6 in the top of the 8th to take an 8-2 lead. Savannah then responded with 6 runs in the bottom of the 8th to tie the game again, 8-8.
Chase Meers signs letter of intent to compete in track and field at Missouri Western
(GOWER, Mo.) Chase Meers of East Buchanan High School signed his letter on intent to throw discus and shotput at Missouri Western State University. Meers, a two sport athlete, chose track and field over football. Meers was an offensive and defensive lineman for the East Buchanan football team that made the Class 2 quarter-finals.

St. Joseph Central navigating first season of boys' volleyball
The Missouri State High School Activities Association announced last May that boys’ volleyball would become a sanctioned sport in the spring of 2024. Seventy-two schools across Missouri are taking part in this first official season. The majority of them are in the Kansas City and St. Louis metro areas.
