FLAMES ERUPTED OVERNIGHT AT A HOME ON RUSTIC LANE NEAR WHITEFIELD AVENUE. CHATHAM COUNTY FIREFIGHTERS SAY ONE PERSON DIED. WJCL 22 NEWS' LYDIA BLACKSTONE SPOKE WITH INVESTIGATORS ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED. EARLY THIS MORNING THIS HOUSE BEHIND ME ON RUSTIC LANE NEAR WHITEFIELD AVE. BURNED TO THE GROUND WHICH YOU CAN SEE THE HOUSE JS JUST DEMOLISHED...THE RESIDENT OF THE HOME WAS MISSING....LATER AT AROUND 9AM SEARCH CREWS DISCOVERED A BODY... THE IDENTITY OF THE PERSON IS STILL UNKNOWN, THE CORONER'S OFFICE GOT HERE AROUND NOON. THE CALL THIS MORNING CAME IN AT 1:55AM, THE IDENTITY OF THE PERSON IS STILL UNKNOWN, THE CORONER'S OFFICE GOT HERE AROUND NOON. THE CALL THIS MORNING CAME IN AT 1:55AM, "IT'S IN GILDED IN FLAMES" AND YOU CAN SEE IN THIS PICTURE JUST HOW HUGH THE FLAMES WERE CHATHAM COUNY FIRE CHIEF JAMES VICKERS/TELLS ME THE RESIDENT WAS ONE MAN IN HIS MID- 30'S, WHO LIVED ALONE. IT HAS NOT YET BEEN CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS HIM. AS CREWS FROM MULTIPLE AGENCIES HAVE BEEN HERE ALL DAY AS THIS IS AN CONTINUING INVESTIGATION. K- 9'S WERE BROUGHT TO THE SCENE AS PART OF THE INVESTIGATION... THIS IS A DEVELOPING STORY...AND AN OPEN INVESTIGATION, WE WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED AS MORE INFORMATION BECOME
