New safety measures put into place at Memorial Stadium in Great Falls
GREAT FALLS, Mont. - Great Falls Public Schools announced in an email sent to parents on October 5 that changes will be coming to Memorial Stadium. This comes after a stabbing incident following Great Falls High School’s homecoming game on October 2. Students will no longer be able to carry backpacks or bags into the facility. Adults attending games may bring clear bags, but they will be subject to search by security staff. East Middle School will have their own sponsored student section for Great Falls High School home games. Only the students may sit in that reserved area. North Middle School will also have a similar section during C.M. Russell High School home games. Faculty may request proof of attendance, such as student ID cards or PowerSchool. Parents or guardians must attend games with students seated in the grandstands on the western side of the stadium. Any misbehavior will result in being asked to leave. Spectators will no longer be able to be on the field after games. Students can’t leave the stadium and be readmitted. The district also announced that there will be increased police presence at Memorial Stadium. All of these measures put into place are intended

Scheel rumbles for 4 TDs as Gallatin moves past Great Falls High football
A steady dose of Tyson Scheel and some stout defense. It wasn’t the flashiest of methods, but it was the perfect prescription for 35-7 Bozeman Gallatin football Eastern AA victory on Friday, Oct. 2, over Great Falls High at Memorial Stadium. The senior tailback Scheel rushed for four touchdowns and Ty Laslovich added two interceptions and a touchdown reception as the Raptors won their second straight game after taking down Bozeman High last Friday. “I’m proud of the O-line, man,” Gallatin head coach Hunter Chandler said. “Those guys really dug in with pass (protection), run game-wise, all over. I thought those guys had a great night, and that’s a good (Great Falls) front, too. And Tyson is an animal. We call him ‘Hercules.’ He doesn’t talk a lot, but man he is an animal on both sides of the ball.” The Raptors (5-1 overall, 3-1 Eastern AA) built a 28-7 lead at the break as they rode Scheel - who had seven touches on a 10-play scoring drive to start the contest - with Laslovich hauling in a one-yard score from Grant Johnson for the opening touchdown. Scheel set up his first touchdown from one yard out with a 47-yard

Billings West football pulls away for Eastern AA win over C.M. Russell
Note: This story has been updated to add more information, a quote, and a video. When the Billings West football team needed a big play, it called Westdon Kelley’s number. Or he called his own. The Golden Bears’ junior receiver/cornerback hauled in a third-quarter touchdown pass and set up the dagger score with an interception in the final frame as West downed C.M. Russell High 28-7 on Friday, Sept. 25, at Memorial Stadium. Kelley beat the Rustlers deep for a 24-yard touchdown from quarterback Seth Williamson to put West up two scores in the third and tipped a pass to himself for an interception in the fourth. The following play, Kelley again got loose for a 38-yard gain to the CMR 12, and three plays later Tyreke Jones plunged in for his second score to effectively ice the game. West (5-0 overall, 3-0 Eastern AA) trailed 7-6 at the half after a fine defensive showing from the Rustlers (3-2, 2-1) in the conference contest. However, a CMR muff on the opening kickoff of the second half followed by a Rustler fumble set the Golden Bears up inside the CMR 5, with the tailback Jones punching it in for a lead
