On this episode of The Action Drug Rehab Hour, host Cary Quashen and co-host Robbie Robinson open up the show by talking about “living in the moment”when it comes to drug addiction. Robbie explains this by stating, “These people are living for the moment, but the moment will take your life”. Later, Austin Dave comes in and discusses the Saugus High School Graduation and how the appearance of a third empty seat belonged to a student who was a victim of a drug overdose. This sparks a conversation about the mysteries surrounding drug overdoses and how many people’s stories go under the radar in their own communities.
Joe Messina is also brought on the show. All four speakers discuss the role of parents being active in their teenager’s lives through active discussion and the dangers that come with parents who refuse to or don’t know how to get involved in their child’s lives. Cary describes teenagers as belonging to three different categories – high-risk, level headed, and fence sitters. Robbie brings up the notion of confronting kids in a healthy manner for their greater good, even if they might not enjoy it. Austin brings up how a large percentage of kids today have no idea what they want to do or who they want to be when they grow up and that this can be prevented with meaningful intervention from the parents or guardians.
Finally, Cary wraps up the show by urging listeners to be connected and being there for their children.
