Flood dangers rise as storms dump more rain on Alabama
A wet weather pattern is expected to dump several inches of rain over Alabama through Tuesday, which could cause widespread flash flooding. The National Weather Service office in Birmingham is forecasting 1 to 1-and-a-half inches for Tuscaloosa and Gadsden, 2 to 4 inches for the Montgomery area and 3 to 5 inches for a large portion of Southwest Alabama from Camden south and west.

Ja’Torrian Taylor and Tevin Rice, founders of TJ & JT Mowing Service, completed Smith’s challenge to mow 50 yards for the elderly, veterans, and people unable to care for their lawns for free."I’m heading down to Gadsden right now. Westbrook Christian to add softball in 2025, hires two-time state champ Chris Williams
Westbrook Christian School will sponsor softball starting in 2025, marking a return for the program. Last week the school announced that they were bringing back the program for the first time since 2006 and hired former Springville head coach Chris Williams. He helped lead that program to the 2015 and 2016 Class 5A state titles. Williams is a 21-year coaching veteran and was most recently at Crossville during the 2024 season.
