JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - The prospects for seeing the Northern Lights from Johnson City, Tennessee, this weekend and tonight are influenced by space weather conditions and geographical location. Despite increased solar activity and a forecast for severe geomagnetic storms on May 12 and 13, which could lead to more visible auroras even at lower latitudes, Johnson City was unlikely to experience the Northern Lights. That said, the auroras were visible in the Tri-Cities last night and may be visible again tonight, Saturday, May 11, from 10 pm - 2 am Sunday.
