Bystanders help to save a man wounded in a daylight shooting in San Francisco
The quick actions by a number of bystanders in San Francisco helped save the life of a man who was shot in broad-daylight on Friday in San Francisco.
SAN FRANCISCO - The quick actions by a number of bystanders in San Francisco helped save the life of a man who was shot in broad-daylight on Friday in San Francisco.
The shooting occurred around 12:11 p.m. in the 800 block of Geary Street outside a local bar, according to the San Francisco Police Department. Police officials say the gunman shot the victim twice and then took off running. The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is expected to survive.
"He was screaming, he got hit twice in the same leg," said Mike Robinson, a witness to the shooting. "[The shooter] just runs up and ‘bam, bam’ shoots him twice in the leg."

Man wounded in San Francisco shooting
A man was shot in broad daylight in San Francisco Friday afternoon.
However, the quick actions by a number of bystanders helped to save the victim's life.
"The guy was laying in the middle of the street, bleeding from his thigh," said Molloy Glenn, one of the bystanders who helped save the victim. "And actually some guy walked by with a nylon webbing, which we wrapped around and put a tourniquet above the gunshot wound."

First responders at scene of Tenderloin shooting
A shooting broke out in the Tenderloin on Friday, leaving a man injured.
Another bystander called 911 as Glenn worked to save the victim.
"That's a good guy, Jonny on the spot, man," said Rich, a bystander who declined to give his last name. "That guy really saved [the victim's] life. When we walked out here, he had a tourniquet on him. I actually called 911."
No arrest have been made in the shooting, police said, and no suspect or motive has been released.
