The true crime series "The Sausage King," narrated and written by KCBS Radio's Natalia Gurevich, and produced by Matt Pitman, Don Bastida and Eric Brooks, was awarded a Gracie in the podcast investigative category on the national division, while the KCBS Radio In Depth episode "Can Coaching and Kindness Coexist" received a Gracie on the public affairs local division.

Through recognition events and professional development, the Alliance for Women in Media brings talented, dedicated, established and up-and-coming women in media together.

"The Gracie Awards recognize exemplary programming created by women, for women and about women in all facets of media and entertainment,” the foundation wrote. "They also acknowledge the individuals who have made inspirational contributions to the industry."

The Sausage King is an eight-part series about an iconic Bay Area sausage maker who snapped and killed three government workers in his factory — a crime that shocked California.

"Can Coaching and Kindness Coexist" delves into the allegations of bullying and abuse against renowned UC Berkeley swim coach Teri McKeever, sparking the conversation about when tough coaching goes too far. Jessica Chin, professor of sports sociology at San Jose State University, and Jason Sacks, the president of Positive Coaching Alliance, discussed the topic with KCBS Radio hosts Keith Menconi and Holly Quan.

The award-winning work exemplifies the very best of KCBS Radio: superior content, creative collaboration and our unrelenting commitment to excellence.
