Steph Curry Made NBA History In Timberwolves-Warriors game

UPDATE: Steph Curry has passed Dwyane Wade (5,701) to move to 46th on the all-time assists list. 

On Sunday night, the Golden State Warriors are hosting the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.  

During the game, two-time MVP Steph Curry made NBA history as he moved up on the all-time assists list. 

Curry came into the night tied with Hall of Famer Larry Bird for 47th with 5,695 assists.

Therefore, he only needed one assist to move ahead of Bird for sole possession of 47th.

In addition, Curry is closing in on passing Dwyane Wade (5,701) for 46th.

While he is widely seen as the greatest shooter in NBA history, Curry is also a talented passer who has averaged 6.5 assists per contest for his career. 

The nine-time NBA All-Star is in the middle of another fantastic season with averages of 29.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 6.3 assists per contest in 49 games.  

He is also shooting a tremendous 49.9% from the field and 42.8% from the three-point range. 

At 35, Curry is still clearly one of the ten best players in the league and is coming off leading the Warriors to their fourth title in the previous eight seasons last summer.  

Right now, the team is 39-36 in 75 games, which has them as the sixth seed (the final guaranteed playoff spot) in the Western Conference. 

They are in the middle of a three-game winning streak and are 5-5 in their last ten games.  

At home, the Warriors have been incredible, going 30-7 in the 37 games they have hosted at the Chase Center.
