Man shot, killed after shooting in Grantville neighborhood

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – The San Diego Police Department is investigating a homicide in the Grantville neighborhood that happened Monday morning.

Police responded to a shooting after 5:30 a.m. in the 10900 block of San Diego Mission Road. One man was found in a parking lot with a gunshot wound to the chest when police arrived.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to SDPD press release.

His identity has not been released. However, the victim is believed to be either a Hispanic or Native American man in his 30s or 40s.

Officers believe a white, silver, or light-colored vehicle may have been involved in the shooting and sped away from the shooting scene.

The motive and the events leading up to the shooting are unknown at this time.
