Man killed after argument ends in shooting, 2 suspects on the run, police say

The shooting happened around 8:50 p.m. Wednesday in the 1800 block of W Laurel St.

SAN ANTONIO – One man is dead and two men are on the run following a shooting just west of downtown late Wednesday night, according to San Antonio police.

The shooting happened around 8:50 p.m. in the 1800 block of West Laurel Street, near North Calaveras and North Zarzamora Street.

Witnesses told police the man was arguing with two men in the street when a gunshot was heard.

The man, believed to be in his late 20s to early 30s, was shot in the chest and was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where he later died.

SAPD is presently searching for the two suspects involved in the shooting. So far, no arrests have been made.

The name of the man killed has not been released. A motive for the shooting is not currently known.
