Conor McGregor is ready to see fighters clean up their act inside the Octagon after witnessing some fairly disgusting habits in this weekend’s UFC main event.

The promotion headed to San Antonio with a high-stakes bantamweight headliner featuring top contenders Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera and Cory Sandhagen. After 20 minutes of action, ‘The Notorious’ was left a little grossed out after watching the fighters spit and blow their nose all over the canvas. McGregor voiced his displeasure the best way he knows how; by tweeting and deleting

Mcgregor Shares Intriguing Rules Change Idea After Watching UFC San Antonio

“One gollier of a spit and two snot rockets each nostril just now from both fighters at the end of the 4th,” McGregor wrote in a tweet that has since been deleted. “It’s a ridiculous habit some people have. It should be abolished via threat of point deduction.”

For those unfamiliar, “gollier” means to snort one’s own snot into their mouth for use for spitting. The Irish truly do have an expression for everything.

Spitting and blowing snot all over the place is typically considered a rude and disgusting habit in most settings, but athletes typically receive a pass as most of us understand how important it is for them to breathe efficiently throughout the course of the competition.

Perhaps Conor McGregor has a point. The idea of men and women rolling around in one another’s spit and snot does make one a little squeamish. On the other hand, maybe the Irish superstar has spent a little too much time rocking Brioni suits and sailing on his yacht to remember what it’s like to be in the heat of battle inside the Octagon. If things go according to plan, he’ll receive a stark reminder later this year as ‘The Notorious’ is slated to scrap with ‘Iron’ Michael Chandler following their stint as opposing coaches on the promotion’s long-running reality series The Ultimate Fighter.
