SAN ANTONIO - Three teenage boys have been arrested in connection with the carjacking and beating of an elderly man in February.
San Antonio Police officers and U.S. Marshals apprehended three teenage boys (ages 15-16 years old) on Wednesday and charged them with aggravated robbery.
The incident happened around 7 p.m. on Feb. 11 at the Bluffview Estates off Walker Ranch and Stonewood Drive on the North Side.
Larry Brister, 80, was going to pick up dinner when he stopped for some reason. That's when police say the three teenagers jumped him, severely beat him up, stole his vehicle and left him for dead on the side of the road.
Brister's daughter, Paige Roy, said her father's injuries were quite extensive.
“He has brain bleeds, broken nose, a broken shoulder, broken ribs, collapsed lung, his leg is raw from the knee down, his fibula is broken. Who does that to an 80 year old man? If you need the vehicle, to take the vehicle is one thing, but the brutal hateness, I can't wrap my head around this."
Roy and her sister are thankful a passerby stopped and called for help and waited with him. They say her kindness probably saved his life. "She held him and called 911. She waited for police and the ambulance," said Roy.
The names of the suspects have not been released since they are juveniles.
