Deputies said they saw them smoking and smoke coming from the car. When the car left the parking lot, deputies pulled it over for failing to use a turn signal.

BCSO said they found a fake gun on the floorboard of the car, spent shell casings and several THC vape pens.

Five juvenile males were inside the car, and two 16-year-old boys were arrested.

They were charged with possession of a controlled substance, 1-4G PG2, BCSO said. More people may be charged as the investigation continues.

Earlier this week, BCSO said they were going to increase patrols near Brennan due to a rise in drug and gun incidents.

According to the Texas Tribune, possession of an illegal vape pen can lead to up to 10 years in prison.

Delta-8 THC pens are legal and available for purchase at stores across Texas, but Delta-9 THC pens remain illegal in concentrations higher than 0.3%.
