SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — “Volunteers Saving Texas History” is the theme of the final speaker series at Fort Concho this month. Dozens of people heard about how to become an “archaeology steward.”

Callan Clark is a member of the Texas Archaeological Stewardship Network. Clark says it’s important to preserve artifacts and historical resources before they’re gone.

“The archaeology resources are nonrenewable, once it’s been destroyed and gone forever and it’s important to protect these sights while we still have a chance to,” Clark said.

Today was the final Wednesday of the Fort Concho Speaker series for April. It will continue later this year.
