Annual LGBTQ softball tournament played in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — The North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA) held its annual softball tournament in Salt Lake City on Saturday and Sunday sponsored by Visit Salt Lake.

Formed in 1977, NAGAAA is a 501c(3) international sports organization comprised of men and women dedicated to providing opportunity and access for the LGBTQ community to participate in organized softball competition in safe environments.

Currently, more than 17,000 players from 52 cities across Canada and the United States participate in member leagues, and the best of these teams converge once a year for head-to-head competition at the annual Gay Softball World Series which this year will be held in the Twin Cities of Minnesota.

The Salt Lake City Tournament was attended by teams from states that included but were not limited to Arizona, California, Texas, Illinois, and New York.

Games were played at field facilities in Taylorsville, and in Millcreek.
