The 'Storage Wars' star died Tuesday, March 22.
Gunter Nezhoda has died. He was 67.
The Storage Wars star died just six months after he was diagnosed with lung cancer.
Fellow Storage Wars star and son, Rene Nezhoda told TMZ that his father passed away on Tuesday night in his sleep in Salt Lake City, Utah. Gunter's youngest son, Ricky , was by his side when he died.
Rene told the outlet that Gunter was diagnosed with lung cancer in Sept. 2022, and the chemotherapy caused holes in his lungs. Gunter had recently flown to Utah for emergency surgery, but doctors determined there was not much else that could be done.
Rene took to his Instagram to share the news with fans, stating that his dad had been smoking for a long time—about 30 years.

"I'm only making this video because I know a lot of your guys connected with my dad," he said, adding, "My dad was one of the guys on Storage Wars that never really got any hate, people just loved him and being around him, including the crew."
Rene went on to say that they kept the situation private because they thought he was going to fully recover, noting, "but unfortunately he didn't."
Gunter was born in Vienna and then moved to Frankfurt, Germany for 10 years. In 1990 he made his way to Las Vegas where he started his reality TV career in Storage Wars . He appeared in seven episodes of the show from 2015 to 2019.
Aside from his reality TV days, he also starred in several films such as Do Not Disturb and The Haunting of Death Valley Junction . Gunter also played bass for several musicians like Kevin Dubrow , George Lynch , Michael Schenker , Pat Travers, and Leslie West , to name a few.
