Trader Joe’s plans to open a new store in Salmon Creek, just north of Vancouver, the grocer announced.

The company said the new store would open at 14019 N.E. 10th Ave. in the new Skyview Station shopping center. The retailer, however, did not disclose the new store’s expected opening date.

“We don’t yet have a timeline to share,” said Nakia Rohde, a spokesperson for Trader Joe’s.

The Columbian first reported rumors of a new Trader Joe’s store coming to Skyview Station and that the grocer applied for a liquor license for a new store last year. The Portland Business Journal confirmed the rumors on Wednesday.

Maggie Underwood, director of portfolio management at Hurley Development, the Vancouver-based commercial real estate firm behind the Skyview Station project, said Trader Joe’s will be the retail anchor for the shopping center. She said the developer is “hoping construction will be wrapped up for the entire development in July of 2024.”

Other tenants of the new shopping center include Chase Bank, MOD Pizza, Chipotle and a children’s museum and indoor play area called Play Street Museum, the firm said in LinkedIn post.

The new Trader Joe’s will be the California-based grocer’s second location in Clark County. The national small-format grocer has one store in Vancouver’s Cascade Park Plaza at 305 S.E. Chkalov Drive and 10 others in the Portland area.
