Taste of the Town highlights local restaurants in Salisbury Area

SALISBURY, Md. – The 14th Annual Taste of the Town event returned to Salisbury on Thursday, featuring 14 different businesses including desert makers, restaurants, and caterers.

The event pitches the restaurants against each other based on category Iron-Chef style to highlight the very best in small plates that the restaurants are able to make.

Organized by the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, the event is meant to highlight the businesses and get customers in the door by having them try out the sampling menu on hand.

Participant and owner of Ugly Pie Shaina Bounds tell us there is more to the event than getting new customers in the door. That the event is also a great way to network with other local businesses.

“I think it’s amazing. We get to meet other local restauranteurs and other local business owners. We get to meet other bakers and people who have never had our product before.”

Voting for the categories will begin after the samples have been distributed with a winner crowed for each of the four categories.

The event was open to both non-members and members of the Greater Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce.
