SALISBURY, MD—-The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a tornado watch for Wicomico County and surrounding areas until 10 p.m. Saturday, April 1.

A tornado watch is issued when conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes. A wind advisory remains in effect until midnight.

SALISBURY, MD---The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a wind advisory for Wicomico County and surrounding areas from 8 a.m. Saturday, April 1, to midnight Sunday, April 2.

Winds from 20-30 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph, are forecasted. Tree limbs may be blown down, resulting in scattered power outages. Severe thunderstorms and developing tornados also are possible, especially in the late afternoon to mid-evening.

Those in the area are encouraged to secure outdoor objects, which may be blown around. Drivers should use extra caution, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle.
