Wicomico County Man Charged with Rape Following Investigation

SALISBURY, MD – On February 24, 2023, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) received a complaint of a rape that occurred in September 2022. The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) assisted with the investigation and identified the suspect as 52-year-old Jose Antonio Perez-Santana. The rape took place in the 300 block of Penn Street, Salisbury, MD.

A search and seizure warrant was executed on March 21, 2023, resulting in the recovery of evidence. An application for charges against Perez-Santana was submitted to the District Court Commissioner, who subsequently issued an arrest warrant. On March 22, 2023, Perez-Santana was served with the arrest warrant and transported to the Wicomico County Detention Center.

Santana was charged with rape in the first and second degree, sex offense in the third and fourth degree (two counts), assault in the second degree, stalking, false imprisonment, and concealing a dangerous weapon. He is currently being held without bond at the Wicomico County Detention Center. All subjects mentioned in this press release are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
