Farm equipment total loss after fire in Saline field

WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI -- A small combine is a total loss after it caught fire in a Saline field on Tuesday.

Saline Area Fire Department crews were called to a field near Jordan and Braun Roads in Saline Township shortly before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30. When crews arrived, they found a small wheat combine on fire.

Crews were able to reach the combine with the trucks, despite it being in a field. The scene was cleared around 6 p.m.

The equipment is a total loss, fire officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, although fire officials said it may have been caused due to overheated equipment.
