Roanoke gas prices rise slightly in the last week
ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ/GasBuddy Release) - Average gasoline prices in Roanoke have risen 1.6 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.38 per gallon Monday, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 155 stations in Roanoke. Prices in Roanoke are 5.0 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 14.2 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has fallen 4.6 cents in the last week and stands at $3.90 per gallon.
One person hospitalized after box truck catches fire in Salem
SALEM, Va. (WFXR)– One person was taken to a local hospital after a structure fire on Tennessee Street in Salem on Wednesday, May 8. One person was hospitalized after a structure fire in Salem Wednesday evening, according to the Salem Fire & EMS Department. Firefighters said crews responded to the fire at around 7:22 p.m., at 1006 Tennessee Street. We’re told crews discovered a box truck parked inside the warehouse was on fire.
