Man accused of pointing gun at someone during fight in Salem park

SALEM, Ore. —
Police arrested a 37-year-old who is accused of pointing a gun at someone during a fight in a downtown Salem park late Wednesday night.

The fight broke out at about 11:30 p.m. at Riverfront Park, and initial reports stated “a man was striking a woman and brandishing a gun.” Officers say they detained Arthur Billy Hill as he was trying to drive out of the park.
According to investigators, Hill was fighting with two women he knew when someone tried to intervene. Hill then allegedly pointed a gun at the person.
Police took the gun as evidence in the case.

Hill was booked into the Marion County Jail on menacing, harassment, unlawful use of a weapon, and possession of a firearm. He is set to be arraigned Thursday afternoon.
