Police arrested four men linked to a gunpoint robbery at a gas station convenience store in Salem. .
According to Salem Police, two men went into the Chevron store in the 2300 block of Commercial Street Southeast just before midnight on Tuesday. One of them pointed a gun at the cashier, demanded money, and took some cash before both suspects fled.
Witnesses helped Salem Police find a vehicle tied to the robbery suspects, and patrol officers found it several hours later. After getting a search warrant, they found two handguns, cash, and other evidence from the robbery inside the car.
Detectives say they also suspect an employee at the gas station gave the suspects information about the store to help them commit the crime.
Salem Police said the four men were booked into the Marion County Jail on first-degree robbery charges:
- Gabriel Ray Firkins, 18 (the employee)
- Chad Patrick Oxenford, 31
- Kyle Ray Peterson, 21
- Jeremiah Sommerlot, 22
All four are set to be arraigned Thursday afternoon in Marion County Court.
