There isn’t much time left in the spring high school sports season, but there are still Mid-Valley athletes to highlight. 

This week’s Statesman Journal Athlete of the Week nominees are:

  • Asia St. John, McNary track and field 
  • Mihaly Akpamgbo, West Salem track and field
  • Brooksie Isham, South Salem track and field
  • Zach Moore, Cascade tennis

Vote for the athlete you think is most deserving. The poll closes at noon Thursday.

Asia St. John, McNary track and field: She won the CVC title in the javelin with a throw of 106-8.

Mihaly Akpamgbo, West Salem track and field: He won CVC titles in the 100 meters (10.67) and 200 meters (21.89).

Brooksie Isham, South Salem.

Brooksie Isham, South Salem track and field: She won CVC titles in the 100 meters (12.90) and the 300-hurdles (46.64).

Zach Moore, Cascade tennis: He won the OSAA Class 4A tennis state championship.
