A stopped train in Salem delayed several Salem-Keizer school buses and slowed traffic Tuesday morning.

Salem-Keizer Public Schools sent out an alert to parents warning of the delayed bus routes and significant traffic delays.

Salem Police said a train was stopped on the tracks and blocking Broadway, Liberty, Commercial and Front streets due to a minor, non-injury collision.

Rail crews are required to do an inspection before the train can proceed. Travelers were advised to avoid the area.

TripCheck reported "bumper to bumper" traffic in north downtown.
